Nuru vs Body to Body vs Tantra: Which Ritual to Choose

Three names come up again and again when someone books an outcall session in Mallorca for the first time: nuru, body to body and tantra. They are often treated as synonyms. They are not. Each one has a different technique behind it, a different rhythm and, above all, a different reason to choose it.

This guide sets the three side by side so the choice is an informed one rather than a guess.

Body to body: the foundation

Body to body is the simplest of the three to describe and the hardest to do well. The masseuse works with warm oil and uses her whole body, not only her hands, to cover the receiver’s back, legs and shoulders. Contact is continuous. Where a conventional massage lifts and returns, body to body stays.

What that changes is the nervous system’s reading of the session. Uninterrupted skin contact over a long period lowers vigilance in a way that intermittent pressure does not. People often describe it as the first time they stopped listening for the next movement.

It suits someone who wants closeness without ceremony, and it is the most forgiving choice for a first session because it asks nothing of the receiver beyond lying still.

Nuru: the same principle, different physics

Nuru comes from Japan and takes body to body one step further by changing the medium. Instead of oil, the session uses a colourless, odourless gel traditionally made from nori seaweed. The gel is far more slippery than oil and it holds heat, which means the glide is longer, smoother and almost frictionless.

The practical difference is that a nuru session becomes less about pressure and more about surface. Very little force is applied. The sensation comes from the amount of skin in contact at any moment and from the fact that nothing catches or stops.

Nuru also tends to involve more of the receiver’s front and sides than a classic body to body, and it is usually paired with a shower ritual before and after, for practical reasons as much as sensory ones.

Tantra is the outlier. The other two are defined by what the masseuse does with her body. Tantra is defined by pace, breath and attention, and the physical repertoire is secondary to those.

A tantric session usually opens slowly, often with breathing that synchronises both people before any sustained contact. Movements are unhurried and deliberately repetitive. The aim is not to build toward a peak but to extend a state, which is why sessions tend to feel longer than they are.

It asks more of the receiver than the other two. Someone who wants to switch off completely and receive will get more from body to body or nuru.
